WINNER – Guide of the Year 2019
“Nick is the perfect host, he has such a lot of knowledge and is so engaging”
London is one of the greatest city’s on Earth and it has been my home for the past thirty years.
Since 1988 I lived in the city while working for the BBC in Television and Radio. During my time working for the Corporation, I have helped cover some of the great events of History, from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the terrible events of 9/11, from the fall of the Thatcher Government to the celebrations of the Queen’s Dimond Jubilee.
In 2017 I started training as a Blue Badge Tourist Guide for London, The two-year training course is one of the highest-rated in the travel industry and taught me to how to bring the city’s history to life. It enabled me to use the experience gained at the BBC to introduce guests to some of its wonders. After completing the exams I was honoured to be presented with the Katrine Prince award for Guide of the Year.
I can show you the Tower of London, home of the Crown Jewels, or Westminster Abbey, the place where we crown our Kings and Queens. I can introduce you to some of the cities great treasures, from the collections at the British Museum to the paintings at the National Gallery. London has so much to offer the visitor, whether arriving for the first time or returning after many visits. Whatever your interest there is something in this historic and beautiful city to thrill you.
